Story
The 2025 International Migrasome Conference was held in Nanping, Fujian, from December 23 to 25, 2025. The meeting was hosted by the State Key Laboratory of Membrane Biology and brought together scientists and clinicians working across the emerging field of migrasome biology.
Migrasomes are newly recognized organelles first reported by Professor Li Yu’s laboratory at Tsinghua University in 2014. They participate in organelle quality control, intercellular communication and regulation of the cellular microenvironment. As more researchers and clinicians enter the field, migrasome biology is developing into an increasingly influential area of international research.
More than 30 experts presented recent findings on migrasome biogenesis, function and translation, including work related to pathogen clearance, viral replication, tumor metastasis and wound repair. A dedicated technical session also introduced practical approaches to migrasome visualization, isolation and characterization.
Dr. Chen Dai, Vice President of Migrasome Therapeutics, presented the company’s translational strategy based on the 3R framework: Read, Rebuild and Rectify. He also introduced a new portfolio of migrasome research kits. The company’s products and services now cover routine workflows for migrasome visualization, isolation and purification, detection and characterization. The portfolio includes MigraIso® Tissue, a magnetic negative-selection kit designed to simplify conventional density-gradient purification of tissue-derived migrasomes.
Professor Li Yu concluded the meeting with a presentation on the journey from original migrasome discovery to clinical translation and encouraged researchers to explore AI and automation as new tools for scientific discovery.
The company will continue to support migrasome studies with tools and services, alongside fundamental and translational research with academic and clinical partners.
